My interest in old manuscripts led me to search for methods of making parchment. Of course I could not resist trying out these recipes and so I'm in the parchment-making bussiness since 1978. The colouring of parchment with animal and vegetable dyes is also a field in which I'm interested. Knowledge of a wide range shade of methods and materials has come to us from the past. My wish is to reconstruct how parchment has been made in the past. This knowledge can be very helpful in restoring old documents in a responsible way, using materials as close as possible to the original ones.
